LEO CHARLES BRAUN, III
January 26, 1942 – March 3, 2018
New Windsor, NY
Leo Charles Braun, III, of New Windsor, NY entered into eternal rest on March 3, 2018 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. He was 76 years old.
The son of the late Leopold Charles Braun, Jr. and Frances Marie (Lanouette) Braun, Leo was born on January 26, 1942 in White Plains, NY.
Leo was a Graduate of Stepinac High School in White Plains, NY and St. Francis College in Loretto, PA.
Leo honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era, 1964 – 1969, aboard the aircraft carrier Enterprise.
Leo was a retired Salesman for Jakwel Sales in Hastings-On-Hudson, NY. During his career, he was employed by many liquor distributors including Big V Liquors in Vails Gate, NY. Leo married Kathleen Leonard Kebler on April 21, 1979, who works at Museum Village in Monroe, NY.
A family statement reads: “Smoking is a habit that drains your money and kills you slowly, one puff after another…Quit smoking and start living”.
In addition to his loving wife, Leo is survived by his niece Heather Ann Walker and his nephew Sean Francis Walker. He was predeceased by his brother John Francis Braun and his sister Kathryn Ann (Braun) Walker.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 9th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY. Inurnment will take in the family plot on Martha’s Vineyard at a later date at the convenience of the family.
